Juggling Work, Life and Muddy Boots

Despite the wild weather during my caravan getaway, returning to work brought a pleasant surprise with a clean bill of health at Huddersfield Health Innovation Partnership, hosted by Huddersfield Giants at The John Smith Stadium.

Balancing business and mum duties, including multitasking in a rain-soaked field to help my daughter with her pony loan while meeting tight deadlines can be tough.

It brought back memories of writing shorthand on soggy notepads at scenes of crime as a journalist. Anyone who knows me knows my trusty pencil and paper will never let me down. The laptop I was a little bit more sceptical about.

This week I wrote a blog for an inclusive architect practice. Hearing that “the client loves the blog” was music to my ears.

I am also thrilled to have been accepted as a mentor at the Huddersfield Health Innovation Partnership – its philosophy is important to me.

Additionally, I am delighted to be delivering a new online workshop for AD:VENTURE next month.

My week started happily with Green Drinks hosted by Fair and Funky, and an inspirational talk from Luke A’Bear of River Holme Connections about their ongoing efforts in landscape recovery. It’s always lovely to have such inspirational clients.

Juggling upcoming workshops and catching up post-holiday, including realising I was 40 minutes late to a meeting (oops Social Progress and Time for Entrepreneurs).

Grateful for the support system that keeps me afloat and grounded.

The perfect ending to another busy week? To have received a lovely welcoming post from the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, and to have been acknowledged for my press release for them.

No doubt I’ll be back in my boots tomorrow for Bramham International Horse Trials. The laptop will be sleeping at home.
