It’s always lovely to see people realise they already have a story worth telling.
That they just need help finding the words, confidence and strategy to share it.
That was the focus of last week’s PR and Storytelling online workshop I delivered for AD:VENTURE, bringing together a great mix of businesses for two packed hours of learning, ideas and discussion.
We covered a lot in a short space of time, from campaigns, events, press releases and brand consistency, through to storytelling, strategic communication and crisis communication.
We also explored the difference between internal and external communication and why this matters more than many businesses realise.
Public Relations can sometimes feel overwhelming or overly corporate, but at its heart, it’s all about people, relationships and trust.
If you’re writing a social media post, handling a difficult situation, launching a new service or simply trying to explain what makes your business different, the way you communicate matters.
Businesses all have different backgrounds, personalities and goals, yet every single one has experiences, values and ideas that could help them connect with their audience more effectively.
We talked about how strong communications can help businesses build credibility and trust, create consistency across their brand, prepare for challenges before they happen, connect emotionally with customers and feel more confident talking about what they do.
A big thank you to attendees, as well as Stephanie Galij, Chris Mitchell and Marianne Smith of AD:VENTURE for supporting.
As always, I wanted the workshop to feel practical, approachable and relaxed. A space where people could ask questions, share ideas and leave with things they could put into practice.
Because good PR isn’t about jargon or spin. It’s about people understanding who you are, what you stand for and why they should care.
If you’re looking for help finding your business’s story, I’d love to chat.
