Workshops, Mentoring and Heartfelt Surprises

This week I hosted my first AD:VENTURE online workshop on ‘Visual Media: Creating Effective and Engaging Content’ and co-hosted an in-person workshop with Janet Bebb of Social Progress at The Media Centre through Huddersfield Bid.

Big thanks to everyone who joined us. These workshops are always great opportunities to share knowledge, connect with like-minded professionals, and support the local business community.

It was also great to catch up with Adam Evans of SNAVE UK through the Thrive business support programme to assist him in developing a strategic communications plan.

Inspiring the Next Generation

Speaking to local students, engaging young minds, and discussing communication strategies, public relations and business skills is always rewarding.

Thank you to Tina Booth of Fotini Coaching and Consultancy who invited me to meet with a couple of ambitious young students from Huddersfield. Their curiosity and eagerness to learn reminded me of the importance of real world exposure in shaping their futures.

The combined involvement of several local businesses has provided students with invaluable insights and networking opportunities.

The press release I am creating from this highlights the significant impact of businesses supporting young people in their professional endeavours.

Creative Projects

On the creative front, I had the pleasure of continuing to write copy for MJH ArtStudio to develop strategic copy for their website and new company brochure.

I also helped negotiate regional coverage for a local business feature. I am looking forward to seeing how this develops.

A Heartfelt Surprise

After commenting on a LinkedIn post, I was blown away to receive a surprise package from Jack Andy at Candle Digital. Andy, your kindness will not be forgotten but repaid. Your books will join the holiday reads I have from Janet Bebb, making my summer reading list.

Personal Milestones and Recharge

Today, my youngest daughter is marking her last day in primary school, and my eldest daughter is celebrating her end of year results before her final year in secondary school.

With so much going on, it’s crucial to take a step back and recharge. I’ll be taking my foot off the gas over the next couple of weeks, enjoying some rest and quality time with my family. This includes our golden retriever Maisie, who is longing for sunshine, swimming and more leisurely walks.

Looking Ahead

Sometimes, September and the new school year feel more like the true New Year. I’m looking forward to taking a breather and preparing for more exciting times ahead.

With summer finally here, enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.
